VR Portaling Demo
A downloadable game for Windows
This is my attempt at creating a portal system that works in VR.
IMPORTANT: This is an oculus game, so SteamVR users will need Revive to play.
Known bugs:
- you can't fall into portals on the floor next to a wall portal
- sometimes you can clip through the floor when falling into a portal
- when switching colors, sometimes the layer jolts upwards 0.0052m
Troubleshooting:
- I'm seeing double when looking into a portal | go into /Vr Portal Engine_Data/CONFIG.txt and change interpupillary_distance to whatever your headset uses. for me, that value is 58, the lowest setting on the Quest 2.
- I'm still seeing double when looking into a portal | go into CONFIG.txt and change interpupillary_distance to a random guess. keep doing so until it looks right.
- The world through the portal looks off, further or closer than it should be | go into /Vr Portal Engine_Data/CONFIG.txt and change interpupillary_distance to whatever your headset uses. for me, that value is 58, the lowest setting on the Quest 2. if it still looks off, change interpupillary_distance to a random guess. keep doing so until it looks right.
- ABOVE 3 IN A NUTSHELL: YOU MUST SET THE IPD!!!
- The game is slow | go into CONFIG.txt and change post_processing to false.
- The game is still slow | go into CONFIG.txt and lower portal_resolution_multiplier.
- The game is still slow | get a better pc, preferably one built for VR
